Lycos released the Top 50 web searches for 2006,and the revelation tells much about popular culture.
While Americans are still obsessed with blondes (i.e. Pam Anderson and Paris Hilton) our interest in online gaming (i.e poker and Runescape) has grown substantially.
In terms of news web searches, tensions with Iran replaced the conflict in Iraq as the most seached international story. But our obsession with celebrity and scandal is ever-apparent with the shocking number of searches for stories related to the Heather Mills/Paul McCartney divorce as well as the Debra LaFave scandal.
